The New England chapter of the American Lung Association has awarded Pratt & Whitney (P&W) the Healthy Air Ambassador Corporate Award for demonstrating a commitment to clean air through environmentally sound practices and a dedication to healthy lungs for all. The award was accepted at a ceremony held at the Riverview in Simsbury.

Hawaiian Airlines, a subsidiary of Hawaiian Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: HA), was today awarded the first ever aviation-based carbon credit. The credits are Verified Carbon Units, issued under the requirements of the Verified Carbon Standard using a new methodology developed by Pratt & Whitney. The methodology provides a validated process for calculating the CO2 savings achieved from using EcoPower engine wash.

Pratt & Whitney Power Systems (PWPS), a world leader in Organic Rankine Cycle solutions for waste heat, biomass, geothermal and solar thermal power applications, announced today that its broad offering of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) turbogenerators are now eligible for the California Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP). Under the program, qualifying California utility customers can receive up to a $1,250/kW rebate to help reduce the cost of installing PWPS waste heat-to-power generation equipment.
