Pratt & Whitney Signs Agreement with Australian Supplier Broens Industries for Additional F135 Engine Work
Pratt & Whitney has awarded Broens Industries a follow on purchase order to manufacture complex support equipment for the sustainment solution of the F135 propulsion system powering the F-35 Lightning II. This new order valued at approximately $300,000 is for units which will be utilized at the first operational and training bases in the U.S.
Sikorsky S-92(R) Helicopter Receives FAA Certification for Sea State 6 Conditions
The Federal Aviation Administration ( FAA) has approved the S-92(R) helicopter manufactured by Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. for Sea State 6 (SS6) conditions, completing the S- 92A emergency flotation system sea state expansion and bringing further mission capability to operators. Sikorsky Aircraft is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
The FAA Sea State 6 certification was achieved on May 30, followed by certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Certification by Transport Canada is expected soon.
Sikorsky Aerospace Services Awarded Exclusive International Distribution of Northrop Grumman’s NAVEX-12 Air Navigation System
Sikorsky Aerospace Services (SAS) today announced an exclusive sales and distribution agreement with Northrop Grumman Corporation’s Italy-based subsidiary, Northrop Grumman Italia (NGI), to equip BLACK HAWK utility aircraft with its NAVEX-12 Air Navigation System. Certified to military standards, the NAVEX-12 provides a lower weight, more reliable, fiber-optic air navigation system for BLACK HAWK utility helicopters. With OEM compatibility, NAVEX-12 will enhance SAS’ strategic upgrade program for revitalizing helicopters eventually sold through the U.S. government’s Excess Defense Articles (EDA) program. Sikorsky Aerospace Services and INAER Maintenance Sign MOU Regarding Support for Spanish Government Rotary Fleet
Sikorsky Aerospace Services today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with INAER Maintenance SAU of Spain to explore aircraft maintenance and support opportunities for the Spanish Ministry of Defense. INAER engages in comprehensive fleet Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services for commercial and military aircraft worldwide. Sikorsky Aerospace Services (SAS) is the aftermarket business of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

Cebu Pacific Air Selects Pratt & Whitney PurePower® PW1100G-JM Engines to Power Airbus A321neo Aircraft
Cebu Pacific Air (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ largest carrier, has selected Pratt & Whitney PurePower® PW1100G-JM engines for its order of 30 firm and 10 option A321neo aircraft. The agreement also includes a ten-year PureSolutionSM maintenance package for each engine. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2017. Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX)
