This brand new, highly sophisticated maritime helicopter is designed primarily for anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, and search and rescue operations, though it also can serve troop transport and other missions. The CYCLONE™ helicopter is based on the highly successful S-92® helicopter platform and features a full-glass cockpit with digital fly-by-wire flight control system, rotor blade fold so the aircraft takes up less space on ships, Forward-Looking Infrared Radar (FLIR), HELRAS Sonar, and many other features. Sikorsky is under contract to deliver 28 CH148 aircraft to the Canadian Forces and is receiving strong interest from other nations.
