UTC Aerospace Systems contributes to Collier Award Winner X-47B Unmanned Combat Air System

The U.S. Navy, Northrop Grumman and its supplier team – including UTC Aerospace Systems – have been honored with the 2013 Robert J. Collier Trophy for the development of the X-47B, the first unmanned, autonomous air system operating from an aircraft carrier. The National Aeronautic Association presented the award on May 29 in Washington, D.C. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp.

Pratt & Whitney Expands Partnership with UPS

Pratt & Whitney, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX), today announced the expansion of its third-party logistics (3PL) relationship with UPS (NYSE: UPS). As part of the agreement announced today, UPS will open a 600,000-square-foot Northeast Logistics Center (NELC) in Londonderry, New Hampshire, to serve as a centralized distribution center for Pratt & Whitney parts, tooling and supplies.

Within the last year, Pratt & Whitney, a United Technologies Corp. company (NYSE: UTX), has signed more than $10 billion in long-term agreements with more than 90 key product suppliers from across the globe. Pratt & Whitney’s New West Palm Beach Engine Center Delivers First F135 Engine

Pratt & Whitney today announced that the first F135 engine has been delivered to the F-35 Final Assembly Check Out (FACO) facility in Cameri, Novara, Italy.  This engine – the 137th delivered to date – is also the first F135 engine produced in Pratt & Whitney’s West Palm Beach Engine Center; the company’s brand new, state-of-the-art 97,000-square-foot production facility.  Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company.

F135 Exceeds Expectations During Live Fire Survivability Testing

Pratt & Whitney, a division of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE: UTX), recently participated in a series of Live Fire Tests (LFT) in conjunction with the Naval Air Systems Command’s (NAVAIR) Weapons Survivability Laboratory (WSL) to assess the F135 propulsion system’s performance against ballistic damage.
