HARTFORD, Conn. – United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) reported first quarter earnings per share of $1.32 and net income attributable to common shareowners of $1.2 billion, down 5 percent and 4 percent respectively, over the year ago quarter. Results for the current quarter include $0.09 per share of restructuring costs. Earnings per share in the year ago quarter included $0.11 of favorable one-time items net of restructuring costs. Excluding these items in both quarters, earnings per share increased 10 percent year over year.

demonstrated optionally piloted flight of a Black Hawk helicopter, a significant step toward providing autonomous cargo delivery functionality to the U.S. Army. Sikorsky Aircraft is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.

UTC Aerospace Systems and AVIC Electromechanical Company Limited (AVIC EM) today announced the opening of their joint venture facility: Xi’an AVIC Hamilton Sundstrand Aviation Electric Co., Ltd. (AUAE) located within the Xi’an Hi-tech Industries Development Zone. The joint venture was formed to develop and manufacture the electric power system for the new C919 jetliner, built by Commercial Aviation Corporation of China (COMAC). UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) and AVIC EM is a subsidiary of Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC).

of China (CAAC) has issued a validation type certificate for the S-76D™
aircraft, allowing Sikorsky to begin delivering the commercial helicopter to

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX), has successfully completed an initial series of tests required by the Naval Air Systems Command to verify the structural strength of the CH-53K heavy lift helicopter. Conducted on a full-size non-flying airframe called the Static Test Article, the tests are part of a three-year program to validate that the largest helicopter ever designed and built by Sikorsky has the structural integrity to operate safely over its entire flight envelope — from its empty gross weight of 44,000 pounds up to its maximum gross weight of 88,000 pounds with external load.

Florida-based Spirit Airlines has chosen UTC Aerospace Systems’ Aerostructures business to provide maintenance for the nozzles for the Airbus A320-family aircraft in its fleet that are powered by V2500 engines. The work will be performed at UTC Aerospace Systems’ Alabama Service Center located in Foley, Ala. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
