UTC Aerospace Systems named exclusive provider of MRO services for JetBlue Airways airplanes powered by V2500 and CF34-10 engines

UTC Aerospace Systems’ Aerostructures business has signed an agreement with JetBlue Airways to provide nacelle maintenance for the airline’s fleet of 130 Airbus A320 aircraft powered by V2500-A5 engines, as well as its 60 Embraer E190 aircraft powered by CF34-10 engines. Under the five-year agreement, UTC Aerospace Systems will be the exclusive provider of maintenance for the thrust reversers and common nozzle assemblies for JetBlue’s A320 fleet, as well as the inlets, fan cowls, thrust reversers and common nozzle assemblies for the E190 aircraft. The maintenance work will be performed at the Aerostructures’ Alabama Service Center in Foley, Ala. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

V2500® Reaches New Operational Milestone

The V2500 engine program reached a new operational milestone when two first-run V2527-A5 engines powering TAM’s A320ceo aircraft remained on wing without a shop visit for nearly 20,000 cycles and 30,000 flight hours. The engines – V12339 and V12341, rated at 27,000 pounds of thrust, are estimated to have each flown in excess of 9.5 million miles since installation. TAM Linhas Aereas took delivery of the engines in July 2006 and operated them for 7.5 years with no removals. The engines contain original OEM parts.

Pratt & Whitney to Provide Lufthansa with PurePower® Engines for 30 Additional A320neos

Lufthansa has selected Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1100G-JM engines for an additional 30 A320neo family aircraft. This order will bring the total number of PW1100G-JM engine-powered aircraft in Lufthansa’s fleet to 60. Deliveries are scheduled to start in 2019 and continue through 2021. Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

Pratt & Whitney, Levett Engineering Grow Industrial Participation in Australia for the F135 Engine and F-35 Lightning II

Pratt & Whitney, a division of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE: UTX), has awarded a contract to Levett Engineering to manufacture components that will be installed into F135 engines. The F135 engine is the propulsion system for the fifth generation F-35 Lightning II aircraft.

ANA Holdings Selects PurePower® Engines for New Airbus Aircraft

ANA Holdings selected Pratt & Whitney’s PurePower PW1100G-JM engines for 30 A320neo family aircraft. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2016. Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

Maritime Helicopter Support Company Breaks Ground on Navy’s MH-60R Helicopter Maintenance Facilities

The Maritime Helicopter Support Company (MHSCo) — a Sikorsky and Lockheed Martin joint venture company — today broke ground to build the maintenance and warehouse facilities that will provide Through Life Support logistics services for the Royal Australian Navy’s new fleet of 24 MH-60R SEAHAWK® helicopters. Once completed in early 2015, the two buildings, totaling more than 11,400 square meters (120,000 square feet), will house as many as 120 personnel with the knowledge and ability to keep the fleet in peak flight readiness during its estimated 30-year lifespan.
