Pratt & Whitney Powers First Ship-based Catapult Launch of Unmanned Combat Air System
The X-47B Unmanned Combat Air System demonstrator (UCAS-D) completed its first ever carrier-based catapult launch from USS George H.W. Bush off the coast of Virginia on Tuesday. Pratt & Whitney’s F100-PW-220U engine and exhaust system powered the historic flight.

Sikorsky Aerospace Services to Complete SAR Conversion for Brunei Shell S-92® Aircraft
Sikorsky Aerospace Services (SAS) announced plans today to perform the first post-delivery Search and Rescue (SAR) modifications to Brunei Shell’s Sikorsky S-92® helicopter. Originally configured for offshore oil missions, the aircraft will undergo a comprehensive conversion to a SAR configuration to serve customers in Borneo and the surrounding Southeast Asia region. SAS is the aftermarket business of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

Sikorsky S-76D™ Helicopter Achieves Certification in Mexico
Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. today announced that the S-76D™ helicopter has been awarded Type Certification by Mexico’s civil aviation authority, the Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC). Sikorsky Aircraft is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX). The S-76D helicopter is the newest product from Sikorsky Aircraft. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded Type Certification of the S-76D model in October 2012, and the helicopter continues its envelope expansion as the first models move through final modifications for customer deliveries in 2013.

Sikorsky Delivers First of Two VIP S-92® Helicopters to Turkish National Police for Service to the Turkish Prime Ministry
Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. today announced it has delivered the first of two VIP S-92® helicopters to the Turkish National Police (TNP) for service to the Turkish Prime Ministry, under a contract signed in 2011. Sikorsky Aircraft is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. . The new helicopters will support the Head of State function currently served by one S-92 helicopter operated by the TNP since 2005.

UTC Aerospace Systems – Motor Drives Systems Centre hosts Rt Hon Michael Fallon MP – UK Minister of State for Business and Energy
UTC Aerospace Systems recently hosted the Rt Hon Michael Fallon MP Minister of State for Business and Energy at its Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, UK facility on May 7. The visit was an opportunity for UTC Aerospace Systems to update the Minister on the aerospace work being performed at the site and to officially open the redeveloped Technology House. The facility has approximately 160 employees, and is a new addition to the Hemel Hempstead business community having recently relocated. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp.

Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne Scramjet Powers Record-breaking Flight of X-51A WaveRider
The X-51A WaveRider hypersonic vehicle, powered by Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne’s SJY61 scramjet engine, achieved aviation history on May 1 by making the longest-ever supersonic combustion ramjet-powered flight, flying full duration and achieving mission success. Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne is a United Technologies Corp. company.
